How a Phone Call With Us Goes

Our first questions are about the covering on your home: asphalt shingle, wood shake, slate, tile or metal, its rough age, and whether it has ever been reroofed. Every material wears out differently. Shingles lose granules and curl at the edges, shakes split and cup, and tile often outlasts the underlayment under it. Once we know the material, we know which failure points to check and which tools and parts to bring.

Next, tell us what prompted the call. It might be a ceiling stain, a loose ridge cap after a north wind, gutters spilling over, or simply a roof nearing the end of its life. From there we agree on a time to visit your home, walk the roof and attic where we can, and explain what we found and which options make sense for your material and budget.

Helpful to Have Ready Before You Call

1. Your best guess at the roof material and its age, even if it's only the year you bought the house.
2. Where you've seen trouble, such as a stained ceiling, missing shingles or a sagging gutter run.
3. Photos taken from the ground or a window if you have them, so you can describe them clearly.
4. Whether there is an open insurance claim, so we know how to document what we see.
